Özet

This letter investigates the throughput performance of power-constrained rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) networks employing incremental redundancy hybrid automatic repeat request (IR-HARQ) under finite blocklength (FBL) constraints. The throughput is analyzed for variable-length coding scenarios, where adaptive sub-codeword lengths are optimized to maximize efficiency. We derive analytical expressions and tight approximations for the decoding failure probabilities of both common and private streams, capturing the impact of FBL coding. Furthermore, we establish sufficient conditions under which HARQ protocols improve throughput, considering feedback delay. Our analysis demonstrates that the proposed variable-length IR-HARQ RSMA achieves substantial throughput gains and maintains robustness against feedback delays, providing critical design insights for HARQ-enhanced RSMA in practical FBL systems.
