Özet
Deep Brain Stimulation is a pioneering neurosurgical procedure that modulates specific brain regions to alleviate symptoms of various neurological and psychiatric disorders. Beyond established targets, the ongoing exploration of new targets aims to enhance the therapeutic potential of DBS, address its current limitations, and expand its applications to a wider range of conditions. Achieving these goals requires a complete understanding of the anatomy and functional organization of these targets. This chapter provides an in-depth overview of the anatomical foundations of DBS, serving as a resource for clinicians and researchers striving to advance this transformative therapy.
