In this review, we have discussed sepsis, acute meningitis, herpes encephalitis, acute pneumonia, neutropenic fever, falciparum malaria, tetanus, cholera and other infectious disease emergencies in adults. Infectious disease emergencies are serious injuries to the patient if they are not diagnosed and treated quickly. Rapid and accurate identification of the causative agent is needed to provide timely antimicrobial therapy for emergent infectious diseases
