Özet

Research has extensively addressed teacher identity, yet the construction of online teacher identity remains underexplored. Therefore, in this study, we focused on how teacher online identity can be reconstructed through online peer observation. To bridge this gap, we employed a social constructivist framework to explore the online identity development of language teachers. Through video recordings, reflective diaries, and interviews, we examined the impact of online peer observation on such identity by six lecturers working at a private university in Türkiye. Our findings indicate that online peer observation can enable teachers to learn how to teach online and embark on the process of reconstruction of their online teacher identities.
