Abstract

In digital cameras, color filter array (CFA) interpolation allows only one color to be measured at each pixel. Thus, the camera must estimate the missing two color values at each pixel. The estimation process is known as demosaicking. Several methods are already available for demosaicking and these fall into three groups. The first group consists of heuristic approaches, the second formulates demosaicking as a restoration problem, and the third is a generalization that uses the spectral filtering model.
