Experimental Validation of a 3D Detection and Tracking Chain for FMCW mmWave Sensors

Özet

This paper presents an FMCW mmWave sensor with its MATLAB-implemented three-dimensional detection and tracking pipeline. The sensor's performance is validated through field experiments. The chain forms a range-velocity-azimuth data cube via sequential 3D FFT processing, applies CFAR-based detection and groups detection points via clustering, and maintains track continuity using data association and Kalman-based state estimation. Experiments with heterogeneous ground targets demonstrate stable tracking over consecutive measurements.
