Özet

ABSTRACT
This section delves into the intricate relationship between microplastics and aging, illuminating potential consequences for cellular health. Aging, marked by progressive physiological decline, is influenced by molecular changes such as heightened inflammation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Microplastics, prevalent environmental pollutants, pose concerns as evidence suggests constant human exposure. Researches have shown that microplastics accelerate aging, impacting lifespan and aging markers. Mechanistically, this involves modulating apoptotic pathways and contributing to cellular senescence. Microplastics induce ROS, causing DNA damage and mitochondrial dysfunction, linking to cellular dysfunction and inflammation associated with shortened lifespans. Understanding the impact of microplastics on the aging process is crucial for developing targeted interventions and formulating strategies to minimize their effects on cellular senescence and overall health.
