Özet

In this study, using the Gateaux differential a new functional including the boundary conditions is obtained for cylindrical shells. An isoparametric finite element formulation is used to derive finite element matrices. Variable cross-section property is induced. The nodal unknowns are the three displacements at the directions of the global coordinates and three inplane forces and three inplane moments. Rectangular four noded shell element has, a total, 36 (4×9) degrees of freedom.
