Özet

Objectives: The aim of this study was to create a Turkish version of the CUIDAR-MaPre Scale and to examine its psychometric properties and factor structure. Methods: The study sample consisted of 351 mothers of premature infants between October 2023 and August 2024. The study data were collected using a personal information form, the CUIDAR-MaPre Scale and the Readiness for Discharge and Home Care of Mothers/Fathers with Premature Infants Scale. Language validity, content validity, construct validity and internal consistency analyses were performed. Results: As a result of the adaptation of the Tool for Measuring the Caregiving Competence of Mothers of Premature Infants into Turkish, it consisted of 32 items and 7 sub-dimensions. The CVR value was above 0.50 for all items and the CVI was above 0.80 for all items, indicating that all items were generally valid. The total scale cronbach's alpha value was found to be greater than 0.933. The results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed that the data obtained were compatible with the model. The fit indices for our model are as follows: CMIN/DF = 4.034, GFI = 0.764, NFI = 0.871, RFI = 0.854, IFI = 0.900, TLI = 0.886, CFI = 0.900, RMSEA = 0.093, and SRMR = 0.069. Conclusions: The CUIDAR-MaPre Scale is a valid and reliable instrument for Turkish mothers of premature infants. Practical implications: Caregiving competence of mothers of premature infants measurement tool can be used as a simple and objective tool to determine the caregiving competence of mothers with premature infants.
