Intellectual effort can be categorized as intellectual work in two cases. Architectural projects are the first category and the architectural works are the second one. Architectural projects have been considered as "scientific and literary" works according to "Law of Intellectual and Artistic Works". Architectural projects should carry the characteristic of the author and should include individual creativity to be able to benefit from the protection of Law of Intellectual and Artistic Works. Additionally, architectural works should have aesthetic value to be able to benefit from the protection of the Law. Modification of the architectural projects and works is allowed to according to the 16 provision of Law of Intellectual and Artistic Works. However, functionality factor of the architectural works enlarge the limits of modifications that could be made without the authors consent.
