Özet
The complaint of dizziness or vertigo is commonplace in the practice of medicine. Probable related signs and symptoms may include dizziness, light-headedness, vertigo, nystagmus, blurred vision, postural instability, gait disturbances and occasional falls. As a result of one or more of these symptoms, patients with balance problems often cope with their disability by avoiding certain movements and by decreasing their activity level. Balance problems and dizziness may also cause unexpected falls which might end up with injury. The reaction to unexpected falls and loss of balance may lead to unfortunate results of physical deconditioning and limitation of patient's daily activity. The aim of this study is to evaluate current diagnostic methods and management strategies in patients with balance problems.
