Abstract

Effects of scorpion (M. eupeus) envenomation on haematological and biochemical parameters in rats at one and 24 hours were studied. A pronounced increase in aspartate aminotransferase (AST), gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GPT), malondyaldehyde (MDA), reduced glutathione (GSH), blood urea and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels were evident after the sting.
