Özet

Technology always develops and changes at a dizzying pace and causes mobile devices to evolve as well.Mobile devices that have grown to be extensions of individuals, became indispensable elements of dailylife. So much so that the individual has become unable to live without smartphones, smartwatches, ortablets. In this sense, the individual who is consistently in a digital environment is also continuouslyexposed to digital content. Therefore, individuals are becoming increasingly vulnerable to media. Theconcept of media literacy is now being discussed through digital literacy. This concept serves as a protectivearmor especially for children and young people against negative messages coming from media. The presentstudy aims to evaluate university students’ awareness of media literacy with a focus on the learningoutcomes of media literacy courses. Through focus group work, the differences between students who takeand do not take a media literacy course will be discussed in terms of the correct analysis of media messages,fictionality, and digital literacy awareness.
