Abstract

A known transformation of traditional journalism is digital journalism, which is in a dynamic structure depending on the development of new communication technologies. Artificial intelligence technologies that have entered our lives with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 are also seen in various fields, including digital journalism. The process of artificial intelligence transitioning to journalism starts with robot journalism. Artificial intelligence systems, which take the place of journalists in the news production process with natural language processing software, have an impact on digital journalism practices in news production, distribution, data analysis, and visualization, as well as in news collection and tracking. Artificial intelligence technologies, which have reached their peak point today, encompass various disciplines such as machine processing, robotics, autonomous coding, deep language processing, image processing, and so on. Artificial intelligence technologies that replace human power are used in the production process of text, images, and videos. Particularly, autonomous processes involving content production in collaboration with journalists in the digital journalism field contribute to the integration of digital journalism with artificial intelligence. Journalism has also contributed to the development of different narrative forms along with news production on various platforms. Especially, digital storytelling in new media platforms has influenced news production. Digital news storytelling goes beyond traditional news production by utilizing the distinctive features of digital platforms and data visualizations, resulting in more interactive news creation. In digital news storytelling, long-winded narratives are replaced with interactive graphics, maps, videos, live broadcasts, and social media integration in the narrative structures, with artificial intelligence technologies being utilized. In today's digital platforms, where data visualization plays an important role in content production, the long-winded narrative style is often preferred in the process of storytelling in news. The longwinded narrative style, which began with "Snow Fall," a long-form narrative piece awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2012
