The main factor determining the effectiveness of a drug is reaching the therapeutic level
in plasma. Factors affecting this may be drug related factors as well as personal factors. Genetic factors
are thought to be responsible for the different effects or side effects of drugs. Genotypic variations in
pharmacogenetic profiles are the most important factor determining whether drugs are effective or not.
Pharmacogenetic tests provide us with the selection of the right drug and the correct dosage, while ensuring success in treatment and preventing patients from being harmed by side effects.
