Dil ve Konuşma Terapistlerinin Diksiyon Konusundaki Tutum ve Görüşleri

Özet

Amaç: Diksiyonun farklı tanımları olsa da bu tanımların ortak noktaları konuşma bilimi içerisinde bulunan konular ı kapsamaktadır. Konuşma bilimi, dil ve konuşma terapisinin de en temel inceleme alan- larındandır. Bu ili şki, tarihsel süreçte ve uluslararas ı örneklerde ken- dini çokça göstermektedir. Ancak Türkiye’de diksiyona yönelik çalışmaların dil ve konuşma terapisinin uygulama alanının dışında kal- dığı görülmektedir. Bunun olası sebeplerinden birinin dil ve konuşma terapistlerinin diksiyona yönelik tutum ve görü şleri olabileceği düşü- nülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de dil ve konuşma terapistlerinin diksiyona karşı tutum ve görüşlerini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırma kesitsel ara ştırma modeli kullan ılarak de- senlenmiştir. Katılımcılara çevrim içi anket yolu ile ulaşılmıştır. Çalış- maya kat ılan toplam 168 dil ve konu şma terapistinden diksiyona yönelik tutum ve görüşlerini değerlendirmek için 28 soruluk bir anket doldurmaları istenmiştir. Bulgular: Diksiyon becerilerinin, dil ve ko- nuşma terapisi çal ışma alanlar ından olmad ığını düşünenlerin oran ı %48,2 iken aksini dü şünenlerin oranı %31,5’tir. Kendilerinin en çok çalıştıkları alanlar sorulduğunda, verilen cevapların, diksiyonla ilişkili konular sorulduğunda verilen cevaplarla büyük oranda örtü ştüğü gö- rülmektedir. Sonuç: Katılımcıların önemli bir kısmı diksiyonun dil ve konuşma terapisi alanı ile ilişkili olduğunu belirtmelerine rağmen ça- lışma kapsamı içerisinde yer almadığını ifade etmişlerdir. Bu yargı ta- rihsel süreç ve uluslararas ı birçok örnek ile ters dü şmektedir. Bu yargının değişmesi hâlinde, konuşma bilimini kapsamlı olarak incele- yen dil ve konuşma terapistlerinin sunacağı katkının diksiyona yönelik çalışmaların daha nitelikli hâle gelmesini sağlayabileceği düşünülmek- tedir.
Objective: Although there are different definitions of elocution, the common points of these definitions are the elements within the scope of speech science. Speech science is also one of the main study areas of speech and language therapy. This relationship re- veals itself frequently in the historical process and international exam- ples. However, in Türkiye, speech and language therapy seems outside the scope of elocution practices. One of the possible reasons for this may be the attitudes and opinions of speech and language therapists to- wards elocution. To examine the views and attitudes of speech and lan- guage therapists in Türkiye towards elocution.Material and Methods: The design of the study was cross-sectional. A total of 168 speech and language therapists were asked to fill an online questionnaire of 28 questions to assess their attitudes towards elocution. Results: The 48.2% of the participants stated that elocution is not one of the sub- areas within speech and language therapy. The rate of who thought con- versely is found 31.5%. When asked about the areas in which they work the most, the answers largely overlap with elocution-related topics. Conclusion: Although a significant portion of the participants stated that elocution is related to the field of speech and language therapy, they stated that it was not included in the scope of the field. This judg- ment contradicts the historical process and many international exam- ples. If this judgment may change, the contribution of speech and language therapists who study speech science comprehensively may enable studies on elocution to become more qualified.
