Özet

A stochastic approach is introduced to find a new kinetic equation for mass transfer in fixed beds. A modified binomial distribution theory is applied to study the kinetics of mass transport from a moving solution to a stationary porous media. The model assumes a limited number of theoretical 'capturing sites' on the porous medium and takes into account the effect of previously occupied sites on the number of particles that will be captured on the media. The solution of the resulting equation which gives the expected value of captured particles with respect to time t, has the form of a sum of a geometric progression to t terms with a common ratio which equals to the probability of a single site not to be occupied by the particles in the fluid.
